L. to R.: Dulag Luft 09/07/44 soon after being caught, Stalag Luft 7 (Silesia Poland) 13/07/44 and just after he returned home, in 1945, aged 22.
Ken was member of Lancaster Mk. 111, Serial ND948, 24/06/1944 from Bardney to attack the flying-bomb site. Coned at 12,000 feet soon after crossing the French coast and hit repeatedly by Flak. The bomb load was jettisoned but soon afterwards the Lancaster crashed at Yvrencheux.
Another member of the crew, F/Of. R. R. Nighingale was also PoW.
