Thanks for the work here, remembering the past and courage of soldiers.
I know a lot of english people come in France for remebering.
In Aisne, Picardie, the cemetery of Vadancourt ( Vadencourt ) is a place of peace.
If you pass through France, please come in Maissemey.
Here there is a castle where soldiers were captured during war.
Now it is a quiet guesthouse, where you can have a rest. If so, do not hesitate !
Regards
Guillaume

Tasman Contencin-Jackson came all the
way from Tasmania, Australia to fight in France and sadly died there three weeks before the armistice. From his many letters we know what the conditions were like and how he missed his family. I hope one day to visit his grave at Prospect Hill. I have photographs of him. It was great to find your website and I'm sure the ancestors of the men who died are thankful for your memorial.

My husband has just left to try and find his Uncle "Bob's" grave at Schorisse. His name was Edward Claude Malyon, known to all as Bob. It is amazing to me that I have found a picture of it here before my husband will have got there. Many, many thanks for this wonderful memorial. I will tell the family and see if we can get a photograph of him.

Pierre. I take my hat off to you.
What an excellent site and what a great tribute to these men you are paying with hard work and dedication.
My great grandfather James Mullan is buried in Le Bizet. I am also trying to get in contact with relatives of the other 3 men he is buried there beside. There is a moving story I have discovered and I would like them all to be remembered.
MacKenzie, Doherty, Erskine - any relatives out there?

Dear Piere,
Thank you for the dedication, love and commitment you have made in making this sanctuary available in our office.
I found my uncles grave from the information you have provided and seen the cemetery where he is buried.
We live in Australia and will probably never get the chance to see it in person.
It is good for us to know that someone still cares for this special place that commemorates the gift and sacrifice that these young boys made.
Thank you.

Thank you so much Pierre for creating this wonderful site which I have only just found while searching for any information on Eine Churchyard. The Gunner James LAW RFA 131202 buried there could possibly be my grandmother's younger brother who she told me had died in the Great War. I have been searching for him for 21 years without much success. Could I possibly request a larger image of the photo of the Eine Churchyard's headstones which you kindly offered? We are looking forward to visiting the WW1 Battlefields this coming summer - it is something I feel I must do since James has filled my thoughts for so many years. Many thanks again for creating this admirable site.

It is great to see sites like yours it helps to show how we must remember those who gave their all and who should never be forgotten.
I am trying to find pictures of the Geel war cemertry at present because my mothers brother is buried there and she has never seen his final resting place.
At 79 years of age she cannot forgive and I was hoping if I could get her a picture of his headstone it would ease her pain.
Please keep up the good work so we can all remember those who fell.
warmest regards

Flt. Sub.Lt Albert Dixon is my wife's great uncle & was a Canadian from Ottawa, Canada. My wife visited his grave in '02; the first from his family since the 1930's. We were very impressed with the grave site & the fact there were flowers on his grave. The bouquet we placed there are still there as seen in the photo. Also the correct headstone has been errected(RN vice RAF). Hopefully we will be able to make another visit in the future.

We went to this beautifully kept peaceful little cemetary on Saturday 11th Nov 2006
We are the first members of the family to manage to get to pay our respect the our uncle CSM Herbert L E De La Bertouche DCM. Sadly we didn't get there for 11am but the French people had laid a sheath of flowers there and it was lovely to see that these young men are not forgotten by the local people, and to see how well the cemetery is upkept. Thank you

Last night I looked through a box that my mother left me, with private historical documents and details of my great uncle, Private George McGuire, who died in WW1. I realised I knew nothing about the manner of his death or where he was buried. Within a couple of hours, thanks to your site, I have found his grave.
Thank you very much, this means a lot.
I would also like to visit the grave someday.
