Thank you for your work here. My grandfather lies buried at Le Touret, killed in August 1915 fighting with the King's Own Scottish Borderers. I have his Commission as an officer signed by Queen Victoria. He lies now in a peaceful setting!

Dear Piere,
Thank you for the dedication, love and commitment you have made in making this sanctuary available in our office.
I found my uncles grave from the information you have provided and seen the cemetery where he is buried.
We live in Australia and will probably never get the chance to see it in person.
It is good for us to know that someone still cares for this special place that commemorates the gift and sacrifice that these young boys made.

Thank you.

Thank you so much for all the time and effort you have dedicated to this site. It is truly a tribute to the men and women who gave their lives so that we may enjoy our freedom. You have created a great reference site for anyone who may be carrying out research on family members or even the World Wars in general.

Keep up the good work.

Thank you so much Pierre for creating this wonderful site which I have only just found while searching for any information on Eine Churchyard. The Gunner James LAW RFA 131202 buried there could possibly be my grandmother's younger brother who she told me had died in the Great War. I have been searching for him for 21 years without much success. Could I possibly request a larger image of the photo of the Eine Churchyard's headstones which you kindly offered? We are looking forward to visiting the WW1 Battlefields this coming summer - it is something I feel I must do since James has filled my thoughts for so many years. Many thanks again for creating this admirable site.

It is great to see sites like yours it helps to show how we must remember those who gave their all and who should never be forgotten.
I am trying to find pictures of the Geel war cemertry at present because my mothers brother is buried there and she has never seen his final resting place.
At 79 years of age she cannot forgive and I was hoping if I could get her a picture of his headstone it would ease her pain.
Please keep up the good work so we can all remember those who fell.
warmest regards
Mike

Flt. Sub.Lt Albert Dixon is my wife's great uncle & was a Canadian from Ottawa, Canada. My wife visited his grave in '02; the first from his family since the 1930's. We were very impressed with the grave site & the fact there were flowers on his grave. The bouquet we placed there are still there as seen in the photo. Also the correct headstone has been errected(RN vice RAF). Hopefully we will be able to make another visit in the future.

We went to this beautifully kept peaceful little cemetary on Saturday 11th Nov 2006
We are the first members of the family to manage to get to pay our respect the our uncle CSM Herbert L E De La Bertouche DCM. Sadly we didn't get there for 11am but the French people had laid a sheath of flowers there and it was lovely to see that these young men are not forgotten by the local people, and to see how well the cemetery is upkept. Thank you

Last night I looked through a box that my mother left me, with private historical documents and details of my great uncle, Private George McGuire, who died in WW1. I realised I knew nothing about the manner of his death or where he was buried. Within a couple of hours, thanks to your site, I have found his grave.
Thank you very much, this means a lot.
I would also like to visit the grave someday.

Dear Pierre, I cannot thank you enough for the care, time and effort you have put into this website. I have found my uncles grave from the information you have provided and seen the section where he is buried in Nord. I live in Australia and will probably never get the chance to see it in person nor my mother who was 6 years old when he died. It is good for us to know that someone other than us care about these men and women who died for their country so far away from home and hearth.

Thank you and Merci from Aussies everywhere for the work done and you are continuing to do.

On a visit to France with my father in October 1999, we visited a Military Cemetery at Beugny just north of Bapaume and in the cemetery called Red Cross Corner we found the headstones of 2 soldiers (nearest the camera) of the Worcestershire Regiment (Lance Cpl L. Lawrence & Pvt. F. Neale) both of the same Battalion as Thomas who died on the same day as Thomas. Also at the far end of the same row are 7 headstones to Unknown Soldiers. Is one of these Thomas?

Many thanks for your dedication in setting up and maintaining this site. I have just recently discovered that I my Great Grandmother lost her nephew, who was with the N.Z.E.F., in the Great War. Reading their correspondence makes me feel very sad and it is comforting to know that through your website he is remembered and honoured.
